he gateway to Willamette Valley tourism is a shopping mall.

The first of five “Travel Plazas” planned for Oregon opened Tuesday at Woodburn Company Stores.

A self-serve information kiosk at the Travel Plaza will feature information about local attractions and services. The kiosk will be staffed from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days per week by the Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce and a team of volunteers.

Revenue from advertising on the kiosk display will help fund the development of Travel Plazas in other locations across Oregon, tourism officials said. The project is the outcome of collaboration between the Oregon Travel Information Council, Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce and Woodburn Company Stores.
