Kiosks add zing and revenues to malls
Trapped in the competitive retail boom in the country, Indian retailers and mall developers have been trying to find innovative concepts to strengthen or at least secure their feet firm on ground. One of the latest ideas that has come their way is the kiosk culture.
Nowadays, a visit to the nearby mall would not alone mean splurging at Shoppers’ Stop or gorging at McDonald’s; a customer can even be engaged at few interesting kiosks for fresh orange juice or imported candies. Though driven by impulse purchase, the kiosks are reaping in sales higher than the permanent occupants owing to their unusual offerings and interesting point of sales coupled with catchy positions in the common areas of the mall.
