Triad BillBreaker™ Kiosks with MEI Cash Acceptor Technology are Cleaning Up in Laundromats and Car Washes Nationwide

July 30, 2005 – MEI, the world’s leading developer of electronic payment systems, announced that its bill acceptors have been integrated into Triad BillBreaker™ kiosks. Triad BillBreakers, widely used in the casino industry for nearly a decade, were launched in laundromats and car washes earlier this year.

Over the past decade, Triad BillBreakers have been installed in at least 90% of casinos across the United States. In 2005, MEI-equipped BillBreakers were installed in carwashes, multi-facility laundromats and family playlands in various locations across the United States. Today, over 700 BillBreakers are installed in the U.S. and Canada, some of which process over 1000 transactions per day. Next year, Triad expects to roll out MEI-equipped BillBreaker kiosks in utility stores nationwide to facilitate utility bill payments.

Equipped with reliable MEI payment technology, the BillBreaker is the only system that can break a single bill down into multiple denominations – i.e., issue both $5s and $10s to break a single $20 bill.

“We tested many different bill validators because we knew that this would be critical to the BillBreaker’s success and acceptance in new, unattended applications,” said Chuck White, president of Triad BillBreakers. “MEI proved the most reliable and easy to use, plus at least 95% of my customers requested that we use an MEI. In fact, it is the one component that we never have to worry about.”

About Triad BillBreaker Kiosks

The BillBreaker kiosk is the only product of its kind that can break bills into multiple denominations. In addition, BillBreakers can be pre-programmed to dispense precisely the combinations of currency, coin, and/or tokens that customers want dispensed.
