Jal Sansthan sets up 39 drinking water kiosks
Lucknow, June 23: The Jal Sansthan today installed ‘Pyaus’ or drinking water kiosks at 39 different places in the city. The move has been a result of the direction by the Urban Development department, Sansthan officials said. The Sansthan has also started a drive to recover dues of water-tax and water-charges from defaulting customers.
‘‘We have made public announcements in Aminabad, Khadra, Sahadatganj and Kanpur road that all those who owe tax to the Sansthan should pay up immediately so that disconnection and mortgaging of property can be avoided,’’ an official press release said here today.
Meanwhile, the Sansthan continued the survey of the city as part of an anti-epidemic drive started in April with a combined team of members of the Health Department, Lucknow Jal Sansthan and the Lucknow Municipal Corporation.
Today, they collected samples from 17 places to check disinfectant levels and all were found chlorinated, authorities said.
The samples were taken from areas like Ram Nagar, Chander Nagar, Puran Nagar, VIP Road, Azad Nagar etc.
The Jal Sansthan also reported to have fixed leakages at 15 places in the Lalbagh Zone while fixing another 23 in the remaining zones.
